Under Oregon law, if a non-exempt employee works six (6) hours or more in a work period, the employer is required to provide a meal period of at least 30 continuous minutes during which the employee is completely relieved of all duties. What happens when an employee can鈥檛 get an uninterrupted 30-minute break? If a non-exempt employee is not relieved of all duties for a full, continuous 30-minute meal period, the employer must pay the employee for the entire 30-minute meal period.
